Physical Intelligence as a Patent Category: Prior Art, Manifold Reduction Claims, and the Post-Jensen Huang Competitive Landscape
Artofficial Technologies, Calgary, Canada
Abstract
The announcement of "physical intelligence" as a commercial category at CES 2026 by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang precipitated a $400B+ market definition event. We document the prior art landscape establishing Artofficial Technologies' patent portfolio — filed January 2026, predating the CES announcement — as the foundational IP for physical intelligence systems. The portfolio covers three non-overlapping claims: manifold reduction, physics-based reward systems, and ternary quantum diode architectures. We analyse the competitive landscape including Huawei's ternary chip portfolio and Artofficial's 12-18 month manufacturing lead.
